Fahid Beach Terraces
Fahid Beach Terraces is Aldar’s signature wellness development on the exclusive Fahid Island, Abu Dhabi. Conceived as a connected wellness retreat, the project is rooted in the science of well-being, leveraging the island’s status as the world’s first Fitwel 3-Star pre-certified island community. Designed by renowned architect Koichi Takada, the architecture is inspired by the serene rhythms of the sea, resulting in fluid forms and spaces that actively promote health, tranquility, and a profound connection to the coastal environment. It is a fusion of luxury and nature, turning daily life into a restorative ritual.
Description
Concept and Architecture
The project is a luxury coastal development by Aldar on Fahid Island, where well-being is the core, intentional design principle.
- Architect: Designed by acclaimed international architect Koichi Takada. His philosophy is evident in the fluid forms and spaces that mimic the rhythm of the shore, with gentle, curved balconies inspired by tide marks.
- Structure: A collection of six beachfront towers.
Residences
The residences are designed to reflect the sea and promote calm:
- Unit Types: Apartments ranging from 1- to 4-bedroom with maid’s room, plus exclusive 5-bedroom penthouses.
- Interiors: Feature Italian-branded kitchens, refined wardrobes (with sensor-activated lighting and built-in safes), and a serene color palette inspired by the ocean.
Location and Fahid Island Masterplan
Fahid Island is presented as the first island in the UAE founded on the science of well-being.
- Size and Nature: The island spans 2.7 million square meters with 11 km of coastline. 30% of the island is dedicated to restorative gardens, green pathways, and the preservation of the native environment.
- Connectivity: The island offers privacy while being strategically located:
- 5 minutes from Yas Island.
- 15 minutes from Saadiyat Island and Zayed International Airport.
- Masterplan Highlights: Includes King’s College School Wimbledon, Flora Mall, Coral Drive (boutique boulevard), a Marina, Heritage Park, and a Waterfront Promenade.

The communal areas are focused on “Reset and Retreat,” accessible via The Clubhouse:
- The Clubhouse: Features panoramic sea views, integrating fitness and movement with wellness.
- Wellness Spa: Inspired by the beach, offering relaxation in salt, steam, and sauna rooms, with bookable private treatment rooms for massages or sound therapy.
